He received an MRI of the hip to evaluate the etiology of the lucency. The MRI showed a well-circumscribed lucent lesion adjacent to the trochanteric physis. There was evidence of edema surrounding the lesion and which most likely represented a sub-acute abscess (Brodie's abscess) vs. Chondroblastoma <a href="CaseStudyImages/CS2CS1BrodiesAbscess-168.jpg" title="Case Photo #2" data-lity><b>Case Photo #2</b></a> , <a href="CaseStudyImages/CS3CS2CS1BrodiesAbsc-168.jpg" title="Case Photo #3" data-lity><b>Case Photo #3</b></a> , <a href="CaseStudyImages/CS4CS3CS2CS1BrodiesA-168.jpg" title="Case Photo #4" data-lity><b>Case Photo #4</b></a> , <a href="CaseStudyImages/CS5CS4CS3CS2CS1Brodi-168.jpg" title="Case Photo #5" data-lity><b>Case Photo #5</b></a>
